MOHS Surgery Instructions
Ten days before your procedure:
With your physician’s approval, please stop taking any aspirin or aspirin containing products.
Three to Five days before your procedure:
With your physician’s approval, please stop taking any blood thinners. (coumadin, plavix and warfarin)
**** If these medications have not been stopped, your procedure may be rescheduled.****
On the day of your procedure:
Eat a good breakfast or lunch. We do provide coffee and water in the Mohs waiting room. You may bring a snack with you.
If you tend to get cold easily, please bring a sweater or lap blanket. Bring a book to read as you will be with us for 2-4 hours.
Please bring only one person with you to the appointment. We ask that this person be your driver. We have limited seating in the Mohs waiting room. Your driver will be asked to remain in the main lobby.
After your procedure:
You will be required to wear your bandage for 24 to 48 hours. You will receive written instructions before you leave the facility.
Cancellation Policy:
There will be a cancellation fee of $25.00 if your appointment is not cancelled three days before the appointment.
